Do Not Involve Your Children in Your Divorce
As hurt as you may be, involving your children in your divorce is a critical mistake. It is wrong in the presence of your children to be disrespectful to your spouse (no matter how merited) or to ask a child to deliver your support check or to smile when your brother bad-mouths the other party.
At some point you will move on from the hurt and anger you may feel but alienated children will live with emotional pain for the rest of their lives. Difficult as it may be, as a parent you have a higher duty. You must always instruct your children to love and respect the other parent unconditionally. They will thank you for it someday.
